St Bernard's College boasts a vast range of excellent sporting facilities, including a six-lane, 25-metre heated indoor swimming pool; twelve synthetic tennis courts (which also serve as a full-size hockey pitch); two turf and one synthetic cricket pitches; two football and two soccer grounds; a fully-equipped, timber-floored multi-purpose indoor stadium and two outdoor basketball courts.
St Bernard's is a member of the Associated Catholic Colleges (Vic) and competes against twelve other Colleges in numerous sporting fixtures and carnivals. Students also have the opportunity to play week-end sport with the Old Collegians.
Sport is compulsory for all students in Years 7 to 11, and is conducted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons during school hours.
The College certainly has a proud and deserved reputation based on its students' achievements across a wide range of sports. Prominent also is the new 400-seat Performing Arts and Music Centre. Closer inspection reveals extensive modern workshops for the study of materials and technology; modern arts facilities for painting, drawing, photography, and an extensive, comfortable library with adjacent individual study area; a L.O.T.E. centre where Japanese and Italian are taught; information technology and media facilities and science laboratories. The College has been involved in a number of International Education programs in recent years.
St Bernard's has enjoyed a long and successful involvement with the Debating Association of Victoria, the Rotary Club Debating Competition. Finally it has a number of bands that enjoy a growing reputation for excellence.
