Our Year 8 cohort participated in the Literature Festival on Wednesday 31 August.

They were treated to authors and illustrators who spoke to the students about their journey to becoming published and recognised for their creative talents. Food trucks were available for lunch.

The English and Library departments collaborated to make this day possible. The day was a wonderful celebration of books and reading. The authors had a fantastic time with our students, and the students in turn had a fun, interesting and productive day listening to and taking part in workshops throughout the sessions.

The authors, poets and illustrators were Fleur Ferris, Nicole Hayes, Sofie Laguna, Marc McBride, Melissa Keil, Deborah Leiser Moore, Mandy Ord, Steve Smart, Justine Sless with John Marsden as the special guest for the final session.
 

SBC Short story competition

Theme: "The road ahead" This year the challenge is to create a character and/or world that explores what the road ahead will bring. The judges will be excited to read stories from a range of voices and perspectives.
