End of year lunch
Junior and Senior Book Club
The Junior and Senior Book Club came together for an end of year lunch. It has been a great year for Book Club as the boys met each fortnight to do book related activities or to discuss the latest book we had read as a group. It has been a fun year with these enthusiastic readers who put their hand up to be involved. The Junior Book Club has read Crookhaven by J.J.Arcanjo, Found by Fleur Ferris, Lord of the flies by William Golding, The reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson and Later by Stephen King. The Senior Book Club has read The Institute by Stephen King, Fire with fire by Candace Fox and Ace of spades by Faridah Abike-Iyimide. Looking forward to welcoming back our book club members in 2025 and meeting students who would like to join. If your son is interested in reading and would like to join a club, encourage them to speak to the Library Team when school resumes in 2025. Spaces are limited so let the Library Team know asap.
The Library Team also conducted a very successful Library Week event at Resurrection House with author Mark Smith earlier in the year, along with the continuation of the reading program in conjunction with our fantastic English Team from Year 7-10. There was a terrific response to the reading Two Million Word reading challenge, in. which the winning class read over 4 million words collectively as a group. Book Week had many students coming into the library to take part in the activities provided and the Year 8 Literature Festival showcased eleven of Australia’s best authors, illustrators and comedians.
Have a relaxing Christmas and summer break.
