The Senior ACC 1st XI Cricket team has shown incredible determination and skill over the first three rounds, with standout performances and memorable moments.
In Round 1, St Bernard’s faced a narrow defeat against St Patrick’s, Ballarat, losing by just one wicket. St Pat's scored 9/161 in 34.2 overs, while St Bernard’s managed 6/157 in 35 overs. Ethan was a standout performer, scoring an unbeaten 39 runs and taking 2 wickets for 11 runs. Callum contributed 27 runs, and Daniel and Sam took 2 wickets. This match also marked the debut of seven players for the 1st XI team: James, Sam, Logan, Tanner, Flynn, Joshua, and Matthew.
Round 2 saw St Joseph’s, Geelong defeat St Bernard’s by 71 runs. Despite the loss, Callum’s remarkable hat-trick was the highlight of the match, finishing with impressive figures of 4 wickets for 28 runs.
In an exciting Round 3 game, St Bernard’s triumphed over De La Salle with a score of 103 to 96. Ethan delivered a stellar performance, taking 4 wickets for just 8 runs, while Sam also shone with 4 wickets for 21 runs and a crucial 41 runs with the bat.
